Restaurants

If you are in search of exquisite food and a memorable dining experience, consult the GLL web magazine. With more than 587 destinations, GLL covers most of the restaurants in the world worth visiting. Unlike published restaurant guides, GLL rates only those establishments that meet our members' high standards. In addition, because the GLL magazine is updated daily, our ratings are never outdated.

GLL recommends only the most outstanding restaurants such as the French Laundry in Yountville, California, Per Se in New York, Taillevent in Paris, Graycliff in Nassau, Gordon Ramsay in London, The Fat Duck in Berkshire, and Le Reve on San Antonio River walk.

Restaurants that receive a GLL Platinum, Gold or Silver Award offer exceptional service, quality and creative cuisine. They meet the highest standards or special taste demands set by Global Luxury Living Members and provide a dining experience that satisfies the senses and leaves the diner contented.

Restaurants are rated using the combined efforts of our GLL Members and Research and Standards Staff. The restaurants considered for the GLL Award or inclusion on our website must offer a menu that is creative and reflects the chef's personality. The cuisine itself must have incredible flavor and aroma, which is unique to restaurants with top chefs.

Silver Award restaurants also provide diversity of cuisine choices that reflect cooking styles from all over the world. Members know that regardless of where they are in the world, they will find a restaurant to meet their dining desires. They consult the GLL website when they are in Dublin to find a specific cuisine type such as Ho Sen when seeking Vietnamese food, or Chinese food in London at Hakkasan, or at Daruma in Johannesburg, South Africa to satisfy their yearning for Japanese food, or in Saigon (HCMC) at Au Manoir De Khai when they desire quality French food. The GLL web magazine is the most up-to-date and comprehensive source for locating the outstanding restaurant you're seeking-anywhere in the world.

GLL's ratings include the assurance that only quality, fresh ingredients are bought daily. When restaurants serve exotic dishes, GLL expects that ingredients are of the highest quality, serving only the finest name brands.

GLL expects the maitre d' or proprietor to make all guests feel welcome and not to favor only their regular customers.

Restaurants rated favorably by other reviewers may not receive a high rating from GLL if they have complex dishes that we believe a chef cannot consistently prepare to perfection. The staff should be a reflection of a competent chef and well-run kitchen. They should be organized, manicured and attentive yet unobtrusive.

Although GLL has great appreciation for restaurants whose chefs have published a cookbook or opens additional restaurants, we may judge that too many books or restaurants leave no time for the chef to personally supervise his kitchen staff.

No restaurant is considered for a GLL Award unless our members' special tastes or requirements are consistently met. The GLL Member must always be satisfied with their dining experience. To receive a Platinum Award, a restaurant must have uncompromising standards.

Recipients of the GLL Platinum and Gold Awards provide you with a dining experience of exquisite tastes and ambiance.
